The Lost Generation

Back in the early 1970’s my sister, Theresa (Peach) married a guy named Mike Marple. He was in the Army, and they lived in Germany where he was stationed. When Mike got out of the military, they moved back to Zanesville. This is when I met Mike for the first time. Me and my brothers were jammin’ at our house on the infamous ‘Pine Street’ when she brought him over. Mike told us that he played guitar as well, and would like to jam with us. Well, that was the beginning of the Lost Generation. Mike started coming over in the evenings, and hanging out with us on the weekends. Seems like we were playing all the time. He wrote songs, I wrote songs, and we even wrote a couple together. One of them (Damn Fool Jam) is on my CD “Give it to the Rock and Roll”

Mike was a big influence in my life, and he tought me a lot. He was a great friend, and a great man. Unfortunately we lost Mike a few years back, but he’ll live on in my memories.

The picture is us playing at my brother Robs house at a party. I’m on the left, and I’m only 13 years old.
